I'm using Linksys WRT54G, I want an automated system, similar to what is used in airports, and coffee shops. I'm not interested in writing a program to do this.

  1. You could flash your router with free WRT-DD software.  You can set it up so when people connect it forwards them to a page where they can pay you through paypal to gain access to the internet.

  2. The most simple way would be to secure it with a WEP/WAP key and make them pay you to obtain it.

  3. how much bandwidth are you looking to give away? Once you get more than a few people on your network, things are going to really slow up and people aren't going to want to pay you.

I would hang a sign outside or ask your neighbors if they would want to kick you a few bucks (10 a month, max) to use your internet. If they don't pay, change the password.

This is sounding like a chump move though so be careful not to sell your low bandwidth to too many of your neighbors.
