How can I check the pieces of heart that I have collected in Zelda: The Twilight Princess (Wii)

Question

I am trying to go back through the game and collect all the pieces of heart that I have missed, but I don't want to go looking for ones I already have. Is there a way to see the locations of the pieces I have already found?

press + and put icon over heart.

No the map doesn't mark that type of thing, would be handy if it did though, they should really have an area like the golden bug collection where it tells you the area you found the heart piece in,  hopefully the next Zelda game will include something like this as TP doesn't.

You can't (I know it's annoying) but if it's in a treasure chest in a dungeon use the dungeon map to see if it's open. So good luck on collecting them Katherine.
