soak in alochol,gin,and clean with soft tooth brush

Buy denture cleaner and use half a tablet in a class with your chain. You can scrub it a bit afterwards, but a good rinse afterwards should do the trick.

put it in a container with a lid, with hot water and a little bit of cloudy ammonia, shake well,then rinse under warm water, it will come up like it's been cleaned at the jewellers.

Put the chain in a small container with some washing up detergent and pour boiling water on them; leave for half an hour then scrub chain with old soft toothbrush.  Rinse twice with some more water from the kettle and dry.
