Does anybody know a good way to clean and sanitize a dryer?

I thought about wiping it out with 91 percent Isopropyl Alcohol and then wiping it out with a wet rag, but the alcohol is flammable and I'm afraid it might catch fire.

  1. just a thought  what germs are you thinking can survive thru the the temps the dryer uses?  I would think that the dryer would kill all the germs  that enter the dryer just by the heat.

  2. The heat from the dryer sanitises it, particularly on the highest heat setting.  I have heard that dryer heat kills fleas (as in pets bedding) fungal spores and most other germs.  I think you are being over careful.  The washing machine is more likely to have germs, especially if you use cold washes or only warm washes.  Washing machines need the occasional hottest wash to clean all the germs away.

  3. You could try letting he alcohol dry completely before you turn it back on.Any ways why would you wan to disinfect your dryer, the point is that it gets your clothes dry.

  4. The heat from drying clothes will kill the germs. If there is some other concern, place a damp towel in the dryer and turn it on high heat for 15 minutes. The steam will do the trick.
