It has brown stains on the part where the coffee filters into the coffeepot, and it tastes a little funny to me

  1. Fill it half way with water and fill the rest with vinegar. Let it soak over night. That will remove the calcium deposits. Wipe with a white cloth and repeat as necessary.

  2. Put some ice, lemon, and salt inside....Shake Vigorously for several minutes and rinse

  3. Walmart sells a cleaning product for coffee pots. It works really great with no scrubbing on your part. It is located in the section where the coffee makers and filters are located ( not in the food section) and is called Brew Rite Cleaner. I think it's about $3.

  4. I'm with Treva! Ice and salt swoosh it around until the stains are scrubbed off.

  5. i use vinager and baking soda. works for me. :)

  6. Try cleaning with vinegar, then rinse with soap and water. Try to wipe out the brown residue with a dishcloth and the end of your finger, or if it has grooves, use the end of a cloth-wrapped knife. Some of that stain just never goes away.

  7. Use a mixture of vinegar and water to clean out the cup. Let it sit for about an hour or two at that time you should be able to rinse out most of the stain and wipe off the remainder. Make sure that all the vinegar and water is rinsed out.

That should also get rid of the funny taste.

To prevent the stains from recurring always empty the pot after you've used in and rinse it put with a bit of soap and water.

Good Luck and enjoy your coffee
