How can I clean my gutters?

I just bought a house last week and the gutters are in need of a good cleaning. They are filled with leaves. How can I do it? Do I need tools? ANything else I need to know?

Get on the roof and scoop the c**p out with a trowel (tiny shovel).  Then turn your hose on as high as it goes and pressure wash the rest of the c**p out.

get a ladder, put it up besides your house near the gutter you have to clean.  Go in side and look for your husband, and nag him until he climbs up the ladder.  from there take out all the leaves and c**p in the gutters and then run the hose to wash out all the small c**p you cant grab.

the best thing to do get a steady ladder get a waterhose or a pressure washer hose an dspray until all the leaves are out this really works trust me

the tools required are a garden hose & rubber gloves,i use the hose on full pressure to push the leaves etc down toward the downspout then move the ladder and  by hand take some out and throw on the ground force more with the hose etc be care full don't over reach the ladder, if they are very high hire someone or hire some one any way and watch how they do it.

If you want to clean the outer part of your gutters, I reccomend purple power.  You can usually find it at automotive stores.  Apply with a sprayer, scrub with a long handle brush (carwash brush), rinse with water.  Takes off the black streaks.  They will look new again.

All you need is a ladder which will reach at least 3ft above the gutter, and a bucket to put the rubbish in. Then you will need some rope to tie the ladder to the house, (not to a downpipe)  top and bottom for safety.

Now all you need is someone to climb the ladder and clean the gutters.

The ladder must be tied every move you make along the length of the gutters. Ladders slide very easily along plastic gutters, there is also the possibility that the ladder placed against the gutter may break it, especially if it is old gutter, and you cannot do the job safely if the ladder is placed below the gutter height. So safety First. pressure washers tend to block the outlet pipe by pushing all the c**p into it. Now you have an underground drain problem.
