  1. Bill Mays knows he will scream it at you

  2. The small shark steamer works okay, and it has a brush attachment, I have found that the best way to clean grout is with a battery operated toothbrush (so much easier than scrubbing yourself!!) and a mix of vinegar and baking soda.

Dust the grout with baking soda first, and then apply the vinegar as you go, the fizzing action plus the toothbrush works like magic!

After you get it cleaned really well buy some grout sealer, it comes in small containers with little brushes at the tip to brush it on and dispense all at once. This will really help it from staining again.

  3. I wouldn't pay to have it done or rent a machine. I work for a local vacuum and floor care center that sells professional strength grout cleaner and grout brushes to the public. It's far better then anything available at Home Depot etc. Also, the machines don't do anything but push the dirt out. It's the grout cleaner and brush that are key. Check out the link below and read up on how to do it yourself and get pricing on the products.

  4. Zep Grout Cleaner & Whitener works wonders. I've used it in all of my bathrooms and I couldn't believe how well it worked. Just be sure to follow the instructions precisely. For instance if you leave it on for too long or wipe all up it up it will leave the dirt which will seep back into the grout. It can be found at any Home depot. Also, you'll probably want to invest in a good pair of rubber gloves before using it.

Btw, I've used a steamer in a previous residence and wasn't pleased with the results and took  a while to do compared to the zep cleaner.

  5. Why not try a SHARK steamer mop?  I just recently saw the infomercial on television and it looks pretty good!  It's around $100 and you have a 60 day money-back guarantee...

  6. Go to the rental place and tell them what you need  and what you have to do. They will tell you which machine is best for you.

  7. If it is grout, I am doubting that it will move as grout is as hard as ceramic.   It handles hot showers....so steam is not much more.  Grout is something that should have been cleaned out while it was still wet when it first was being applied.   Now, you basically have to chip it off.

  8. Grouting seems to be a common problem in most cases and hiring a professional help could cost you a lot... Have you  ever tried cleaning it with bleaching agent or oxiclean or any other tile cleaning products....
