My house has painted white wooodwork throughout. I love it when its clean, BUT I have a cat and dog which in turn brings dirty, dusty hairy woodwork! Just vacuuming doesn't cut it! Am I really going ot have to get on my knees and clean?! Is there any tricks out there?

  1. I know first hand, as I have 3 very large dogs.  Vinegar, Dawn (blue) dishsoap, and water (about 1/2 cup of white vinegar, 1 squirt of Dawn dishsoap, and about 1 quart of water.

    Also, OxyClean works well, too.

Simple Green is another option (sold at WalMart, K-Mart with the other cleaners.  Sometimes it is in the automotive department!

I have to pain my white woodwork about once every 18 months or so.  But that is life with the doggies, and so worth it!

    Good luck.

  2. Mr Clean Magic Eraser is my favorite.  Also Vinegar cleans really good as well.  Mix 1/2 and 1/2 vinegar and water.

  3. I use Murphy's wood soap, mixed with warm water.

Get a small towel and soak, wring out and rub the dirty areas.  It is safe for cleaning painted surfaces, getting the dirt off without removing or damaging the painted surfaces.

    It smells good too.

  4. Try the Green Works by Clorax!! It's really good.  We use it to clean our bathroom!! Walmart sells it!
