I bought a SATA hard disk by mistake, is there a way to connect it in replacement of my old Western Digital WD 200, using an adaptor board for example.

  1. There probably is an adapter you can use - search for SATA to EIDE assuming you need an EIDE connection.  If this isn't your main drive, you may also look into buying a hard drive inclosure for the SATA drive and using it as an external drive.  Of course the first thing you should do is verify your computer does not already have a SATA connection on the motherboard - some older computers actually had these but EIDE were the norm so they didn't have the SATA drive installed.  You can find out if your motherboard has the connection by checking the documentation that came with it or visiting the manufacturer website.
