  1. If you have DVI or HDMI out of your laptop, do what GH says.

If you have DVI, you will also have to send audio out to the TV. HDMI carries audio and video.

If your laptop only has the 15 pin VGA connector (Dsub) you need to buy this: http://www.keydigital.com/IW_Products.m4...

You need this to marry your laptop to your TV. They are not compatible. It will output 720p or 1080i, both of which are HD, whichever your laptop is capable of sending.

  2. Your TV would either have to have a VGA 15 pin pc input or if your laptop has a DVI output you can connect a DVI to HDMI cable from the laptop to your TV for full digital HD video. If your tv is 1080p then set your secondary monitor's resolution to 1920x1080 and refresh rate 60Hz. If the highest resolution you have is 1080i then it will only accept a refresh rate of 30 Hz and the image will flicker, in that case set it to 1280x720 60 Hz.

  3. Some tv's have a VGA input also, check your specs and see if it does. If so just plug in laptop and youre off. I use mine in this way all the time..

It will playback in HiDef if your video card is capable of producing High Def, again check the specs on your computer

  4. your tv needs a pc input.

  5. If your TV has an HD-15 (computer monitor) connector on the back you can.  Other than that you will need a video card on your computer with a composite video output.
