Question:

How can I connect to the wireless internet on wii?

I've tried everything! I've connected and done all the options, but I don't understand how to find or how to connect with others?

Can someone please help as this is my first time connecting, thanks.

  1. I guess ethernet is not available on the wii which is really stupid.  If you can find a wii ethernet adapter, you can connect that using powerline instead of wireless.  Powerline is a better technology than wireless for online gaming.  Check out this video:

    I also see that there are 2 USB ports on the back.  You might be able to buy a USB to ethernet adapter to get your ethernet.  Then you can buy 2 powerline adapters.  They sell usb to ethernet adapters on http://www.newegg.com

    I know this will cost you, but if all else fails, you can try this.  Keep trying to get your wireless working first though.


  2. I think you have connected to the Internet already. If you haven't, check your manual, (or check if you can search through the Wii Shop Channel). If u can, to play with your friends you need to know their friend codes. It's 16 digits long. Yours is found in your address book. It should say:

      Wii Number : ####  - #### - #### - #### where # is a digit. You need to know your friends wii codes and have a game that says Wi-Fi connection in a blue circle on the game to play online. Mario Kart Wii supports online play. Hope this helps.
