  1. Go to their profile and see if their E-mail or IM communications is enabled.

  2. First you have to go to your profile page and change your settings to allow IM and Email. Just click on Edit my Profile and change the settings. Then check and see if your fans also allow and if they do then you can IM and Email them.  Hope this helps!!!
