How can I contribute?

I am a great student, but I am not really involved in any community service project or any of the sort. How can I get involved, what can I do? any ideas?

The other replies have some good suggestions.

Something else to look at is not just the typical volunteer places (hospitals, Salvation Army, etc) but also in activism. Is there something you're passionate about? Environment, animals, international development, etc?

I'm really passionate about 3rd world development, specifically war-torn countries in Africa. I did countless hours of internet research for projects to volunteer with, conferences to join the planning team, etc. I've found a lot of events and places to volunteer as well as conferences to attend. It's been great doing these things and I'm really getting involved in the community this way.

if your parents have a job, go help them out, if their are any school events coming up, ask if you can help, spend a day cleaning your neiborhood, go to your local library read to kids thier.

Food Pantry

mentor a younger student

tutor a student that needs help

Start a food pantry at your school

Cancer Society

Heart Society

Visit people in nursing home...... start a wheel chair dance program...... have someone come in and play music either live or on DVD.... and you push the wheelchairs to the music.

Start a Safe Trick or Treat at a nursing home.....

Teach children and adults to read or improve reading skills...

Yes, U r Great Student. Because of thousands of u r collage u r the only one who r intersted in Social Serive. So, don't be late. U r involved in any NGO as a Voluntter. Such as u Donate the Blood at Hospital, Teaching the Computer knowllage to poor childern etc. Most imporantant part is if u feel like to Help others, catch the & help them....
