my french class is sending a delagation to france next summer and I really want to go. but I can't convence my parents. I've tried to sit down a talk to them, but the answers always the same no. I've been working at this for almost a year. I really do want to go. and the price is VERY reasonable ($1,500, that includes air fair, hotel, motor coach, breakfast every morning, and tickets to all major excersions we plan on doing for 10 days) Okay it will be more because I need spending money and food money but still! I have to sign up by Auguest 6th before the price goes up. bottom line is I really want to go, and don't know how else I can word it to make my parents understand. I'm also the presadent of the french club and I'd feel a bit weird not going when everybody else is. any advice.

  1. 1500$ is a LOT of money, problems or not most people wouldn't be able to afford it no matter what. If your parents said you then its still probably gonna be a no. If you mom says no again I wouldn't push the subject.

  2. If you really want to go to France next summer..... get a job and start saving YOUR OWN money. Act responsibly. Do good in school this year.  Stay out of trouble.

You said yourself that its been a hard year financially for your parents. Real Estate is a an all time low.... Maybe they just don't have the money. Or maybe they think you aren't responsible. ....

So start proving to them that you can handle it!

If you have a plan your parents are more likely to listen.

  3. holy c**p thats cheap...

i went to australia for 18 days and it was over $8,000!

    anyways...

you need to act responsible and prove to them you can handle this.

when i found out i could be going to australia, i took on way more stuff:

    more chores

not as much time in front of the TV/computer.

    ect.

find out why you cant go.

instead of asking "can i go can i go can i go??", ask why cant i go? or how you could make a difference in your chances of going.

  4. Make sure its the price thats the problem and not concerns about your maturity. She if their are any fundraisers or discounts and try to raise some money yourself.
