How can I convert VOB files to MP3 files ?

Question

We are currently copying our old audio tapes onto a DVD (thus black screen with music on) but we want to make cd's out of it. The files made on the dvd discs are 'VOB' files (the majority of them is). Is there any way to convert these to MP3 files ?

I have  ipod video converter, it backups to extract audio from video to MP3.
