  1. this is imposible. even if it were possible it would have no picture

  2. You can try some best DVD Ripper Platinum here, they can convert DVD to AVI, DivX, XviD, VCD, WMV, MPEG4 format video files, with almost same quality, but just only 10% size. So you can add DVD Movie to iPod, Zune, Pocket PC or any other MP4 player. Also, you can rip the DVD to the formats for Youtube video such as wmv.

Even you can use the video editor profile to output avi file for your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas. Also, it supports ripping MTV, music DVD to MP3 audio; you can listen to your favorite movies on your iPod now!

There is the free download link:

Also, you can search some other ones:

  3. You probably can't.  DVD's hold a lot more information and use a different and stronger hardware method to record it.

A DVD drive will read CD's and a DVD RW drive will make CD's, but a CD drive won't touch a DVD.

Yesterday we did a "Save the System" on a new computer and it wanted 2 DVD's or 15 CD's to hold the files which gives you some idea of the proportion.

If you just want to be able to read DVD's, you might get a USB external DVD RW drive -- they are about $70 at places like Frys.

  4. Well.....the physical media is different so you won't be use ur computer CD drive to play a DVD...Conversly one can play a CD using a DVD drive...........i would say you should install a DVD drive....should cost approx 2k...although am not sure about the rates now....3 years back it was 3k for a samsung IDE DVD drive for my deskop
