I have downloaded some songs which are in AAC format (not really sure what this is) but my mp3 player does not support this format so I need to convert them to a supported format (eg mp3 wav wma). I cant use windows media player though...is there an easy way to do this?

  1. You can go to http://convertersoft.com to download a converter.

I personally use ultimate DVD + Video converter suite.

    It works very well

  2. As you want to convert the AAC files (include M4A, M4B, M4P which are all protected) to MP3 or WAV format, you will need a DRM audio converter which supports protected audio files.

And here I found a good program to help me remove DRM and convert the DRM music.

You can free download it to have a try.

    http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/digita...

It can remove the DRM from protected music (mp3, wma,m4p, wav, etc) and extract audios from DRM video (wmv, m4v, asf, etc).

  3. I use MelodyCan Ultra Video converter to convert M4P to MP3 (MPEG4-AAC Audio) taken from iTunes store

  4. There are several ways to go about doing this, depending on what operating system you are working on. I suggest importing the songs in iTunes, then right-click and choose "Convert Selection to MP3". It will then convert and import the new file. This approach will work on either operating system, Mac or PC (and probably Linux, but I am not sure of the functionality of iTunes running in Linux).

    To get iTunes: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

The second available option (my favorite) is using an online utility, such as YouConvertIt. This option will work for any computer, regardless of your operating system. It's simple; visit the website, choose a file to convert, select to convert it to an MP3 file, and press the big, green CONVERT IT! button.

Your third and final possibility would be to download an AAC to MP3 audio converter and convert the audio files directly on your computer. No importing, no uploading, just straight conversion. This would be the quickest way if you've got many files to convert, though I would certainly not recommend downloading anything simply to convert one track. Before downloading, be sure the software is clean and there are no obvious traces of spyware located within the product.
