This is an antique iron headboard, footboard and side-rail system. The headboard and footboard have female receivers where the side rails have a male "button" that sits down in the receiver. It is easily converted for width as the box spring can sit on wider cross bars, but I need 5" more length and don't know how to convert it.

  1. I'd go to a local high school that offers shop classes or maybe even the local community college and ask one of the teachers if they can recommend a student.  There is a lot of talent out there.  I'd bring a rail and may be they can redesign it with the extra inches needed.  Keep the old rails in case you want to do something in the future with the whole be.
