How can I convert .m4a to m4r (to make an iphone ringtone)?

I tried renaming the file by typing in the extension change but it did not change the actual file type. What do I need to do to actually change this without having to download more programs?

i'm having the same problem. except mine go into ringtones but wont download onto my phone. im going to try and figure it out right now, so ill email you if i get it.

Hey i have an IPhone too. Now i need help as well. I downloaded a program and it makes a ringtone but when i upload it to itunes it doesn't go into ringtones. So dude if you find the answer please email me! I tried everything. I want a ringtone too! So please email me if you find something!
