  1. Show how committed you are by researching their care:

    Remember that guinea pigs should be kept in same s*x pairs or groups, not alone.

  2. * Guinea-pigs are friendly, a great pet for any age

    * guinea-pigs don't smell

    * Guinea-pigs are quite animals

    * Guinea-pigs are very east to clean out

    * Guinea-pigs only eat guinea-pig food and fruit and veg

    * Guinea-pigs can talk to you, and you can talk about to them - if you get a pig you will knew what i mean

    * Guinea-pigs are so cute

    * Guinea-pigs don't need loads of floor space

    *Guinea-pigs are clean animals

    * Guinea-pigs can look after them self's in the day time, unlike dogs and so on, Guinea-pigs keep themselves busy

    * at night guinea-pigs go to bed so they don't bother you

  3. Well why dont you get your parents to take you to a pet store that sells Guinea pigs, then get someones opinion on getting a Guinea pig. Tell your parents they are really easy to look after and show them how much you want one, maybe offer to pay half the price.

  4. Being an owner of a guinea pig, or any pet, requires a commitment to care for the animal for it's entire life.  This takes money, time and work. You need to provide all of these things, and prove that you can.

    You need to talk to your parents letting them know what it takes to be a responsible guinea pig owner.  This means that you have done all the research on guinea pigs and what it takes to be an owner.

    As a recent guinea pig mom, I can tell you that pigs do take a bit more work and money than I first anticipated.  You have to be prepared to:

    -purchase all the necessary supplies (pen, water bottle, food, hay, etc.)

    -clean the pen 2x a week

    -feed 2x a day

    -exercise and socialize him/her

    -yearly check up's to the vet

    They are great pets, and great fun . . but are more responsiblity than a hamster for sure.

    Approach your parents and discuss why you want to have a guinea pig and how you plan to care for them.  If you are mature and prove to be a responsible person, they may allow it.  Even if they deny you at first, keep working on being responsible and approach them again.

    Good luck!

  5. Well for starters, how about trying the following:

    #1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

    #2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

    #3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

    #4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

    #5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

    #6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

    #7 Don't talk rudly to adults

    #8 Always share with other kids.

    #9 Go to bed when you are told to.

    #10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

    # 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

    I'm 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)

  6. You need to show then that you are responsible. Tell them your plan for the rodent and how you plan to take care of it. Ask enough so that they get the idea that you really want one, but dont push so much that they get angry. Have "guinea pig" be the first thing on your birthday and Christmas list. Make sure you do treat it well if you get one! Good luck!
