I'm in 9th grad and school just started a few days ago, here are the changes I want:

drop: CP english, CP Bio, Spanish1

add: reg. english, reg. bio, French 1

The reason I want these changed is because my mom was the one who picked them in the first place and I don't think I could pass the CP classes. French was also my first choice.

  1. Honestly I'd keep CP English.  Take reg Bio and French.

If you're going to college, CP English will help greatly.  1) chicks dig guys who know how to write properly.  2) Chicks dig French and a lot of girls take French.  3) CP Bio is too early, if you're planning a career in the sciences, CP Bio isn't necessary, yet.

Your mom probably wants to brag to her friends about these higher level classes you're in.

However, since I don't know if you're a male or female, my answers above may not work.  If you're a girl I'd say stick with what I wrote.  1) Boys need help with English.  2) Boys love a girl that speaks French, whether they admit it or not.  3) See above.

More on mom.  Will she be there to help you when you struggle with CP classes?  What's her reaction (predicted reaction) to bringing home C's and D's over B's and A's?

Another route, ask the teachers.  Find out what the work will be like.  What do you think your former teachers would say about you?  Do they think you might be able to handle the course work?

  2. Really you can't. Maybe at semester you could switch if you are not excelling. They don't really listen much to you unless you are struggling to pass even with extra credit.

  3. Just talk to your advisor and tell them about YOUR decision... after all it's YOUR life and YOUR choice not your mothers, however you should probably discuss this with your mom first. Parents have ways of understanding their kids better than we think.
