How can I convince my dad to let me get a Macbook?

Please don't say I'm a spoiled rich kid or whatever. I currently have a job, and I have saved up enough money to get a macbook. The problem is my dad won't let me get one. He says it's way too expensive and that macs aren't as good as pc. But my desktop keeps on shutting down randomly, and it's super slow. Well, I've heard great things about Apple, and my school uses macs. My dad just won't let me get one, even though I'd be paying for it myself.

How can I convince my dad to let me get a Macbook? I've already tried telling him about all the applications that come with macs, like iLife. I really want a Macbook, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I tried but got a DELL instead. Wait until November because the NEW MACBOOKS should come out by then.

well are you going to pay for it cause if you are he cant really stop him..

and tell him that it will help you in the future when you go to college because macs do last a long time.. and really dont get old too fast.

Tell your parents that when buy a mac book for college (Which apple wont know if you are in college or not) you can get a free ipod nano or ipod touch 8 gb.  Oh and you can only do this at http://www.apple.com/backtoschool

im using the same macbook you're talking about right now..and it is great! haha. explain to him its your money, and if you could buy it by yourself you would, but you cant, and you just need him to help you this once.
