How can I convince my mom to let me get a pet?

Dogs are ruled out, because my brother had an asthma allergy attack from our old dog Minnie. So are cats, because I'm the only one in my family not fully allergic to cats and dogs. Ferrets I hear are mean and bite so I don't want one. Fish are boring. But, I ask my mom sometimes if I can get a hamster, a bunny, or any other type of rodent-y pet. She says no, every time. How can I convince her to let me get something? I'm lonely. :(

  1. i would have a serious talk to  your mom about being lonely and tell her that u need something to help u cope with the loneliness in ur life if that dont work show her that u can be responsible  and she might change her mind ... there is meds ur bother can take for being allergic to dog and cats i take some cause we have 2 cats ... wish u all the luck in the world

  2. ask for a corn snake and just negoiate or comprimise with her or something

  3. you should just do what i did put your pet on your christmas list and pray allot about it and hopefully it will happen. hope it happens. good luck.

  4. Maybe you could show her that you could be responsible for a pet by

the next time a friend of your goes somewhere you over the week-end,

you could offer to take care of it for them.

  5. i think that u should get the rabbit cuz u dont really have 2 do anything 2 them but love them, so wat u have 2 do iz show that ur really responsible and that u will do any thing in ur power 2 get the rabbit iight hope it all works out much luck :D XD

  6. I would suggest getting a hamster, I know you had a dog and a cat but since you didn't have them for long then you might have little experience. Syrian hamsters are more friendly then the dwarf type and less nippy, if it's nippy at the beginning then wear gloves until it's used to being handled. Rabbits don't make good first pets

As for your mom, I suggest doing ALOT of research on your selected pet all about handling, diet, bedding, housing everything you can find and handwriting a huge essay and read it to her. Don't get mad or sulky at her, talk it over maturly and calmly and explain.

Hope I helped and good luck!

  7. I am allergic to both cats and dogs. It still has not stopped me though. I have 10 cats now and 4 dogs. I think you should get a short haired cat or dog because the less fur they have the less allergies and allergy attacks they will have.

No to bunnies they are only fun when younger

    no to mice

maybe a hamster if your mom keeps saying no to dogs and cats.

  8. tell her you are lonely! tell her that you will pay for it and take care of it

  9. Mice are very fun pets to have. They rarley bite and love to play. At my local pet store, they only cost $1.50. Tell her you will take extra care and do lots of research before deciding on a pet. Make it seem like you are ready to take on a new one. Thats what I did and now we've got 3 dogs 3 cats 3 mice a fish tank and 1 bunny

  10. This worked for me. Research the pet you would like. I wanted a hamster so I researched them, and then wrote down around how much they cost. Tell your mom that you would like one, then tell her all the cute and cool facts about that pet, and show her pictures of that animal being cute. Animals are a big responsibility and cost some money. Make sure that you have at least 45 $ for that pet if your mom or dad will chip in. Hamsters are around 10$ plus 45-60$ for everything, dogs and cats are a lot of money and fish are cheep. Other rodents are around 45-60$.

  11. Talk deeply with your mother or Let her moved by your true feelings to pets when time is proper
