  1. I am MAJORLY impressed that you want to get a job at 14. Good for you!!! My little sister is 18, graduated from high school almost 2 months ago, and STILL doesn't have a job, nor does she seem interested in obtaining one.

However, if I were you, I'd wait another year. It's easier to get a job when you're 16 because there are a lot of jobs you're legally not allowed to do until that age. But, just remember, you're going to be working for the rest of your life. Don't be in too big of a hurry to jump into the work force.

It'll be easier to get a job when you're 15 than now, because you'll be turning 16 in the next year and then they can make you work more. ;o)

  2. well you should let her know you want to be independent, but i thought you had to be 16 to get a job. and i'd wait until yout 16 so you dont have to ask her for rides to your job or anything, it can really be a burden on her. maybe a simple job like walking dogs in your neighborhood or something can be good for you and its close to home, maybe convince her with a babysitting job or something. goodluck
