  1. First what you should do is a day before asking her, do some nice things for her, like washing the dishes, taking out the trash, ect. Then go up to her and tell her that tennis is really important to you and that you need the racquet to continue taking your game to the next level. If she's unsure, tell her you will try to replace the money spent on the racquet as soon as you can.

  2. Don't pay 200 for it. I got the same exact racquet slightly used off ebay for 100. I mean its going to get used anyway, why should I care who uses it as long as its in good condition. I'm sure if you get a good deal like I did, it won't be hard to persuade your mom into letting you buy it.

  3. begging

  4. Tennis is a very prestigious sport. My son just started taking lessons and he loves it. It's a great way to get and stay in shape and it keeps you off the streets. . Being that you have money saved, it's not like it's coming out of her pocket.  You never mentioned how old you are but I'm guessing you're a teen.  Can your dad persuade her, too?   I'm a mom so I will be all for it. Good Luck!!

  5. If this is your first racket, you should probably go with something a little cheaper. My first racket was 30.00, and now I'm on my fourth and it cost over 200.00. If you decide to get a cheap racket, your mom should approve. If you decide that you're serious, then you should advance to something more advanced.

  6. tell her you are really interested and want to make tennis ur only sport ever. Also u don't need that expensive of a racket

  7. well i disagree with aerial or w/e her name is

If you are seriuos about playing tennis you will need one of those 'expensive' racquets....but i would first make sure you like the racquet and find a store that will let you demo it  (which most tennis specialty stores do). Also before u purchase you need to be sure that you're willing to put the time and the effort into playing and learning tennis. And as for your mom. Tell her that you will (if this is the case) be devoted to the sport and it's not just some fad that you're going through. And you more then likely want your dad to be there to back you up when you talk to her about this.

    EDIT!!!

Just be aware if you buy a cheap racquet your string tension will drop so fast it won't even be funny. You might wanna look at an older model racquet like a Wislon N-tour 2. Still a great racquet but not as expensive

    EDIT!!! again

well you should have told us that eairlier...we didn't know your situation no need to get angry

but in that case iw ould just tell ur mom that you want that racquet and its your money...just not in a rude way

  8. I am a parent and I feel that besides being a great social sport, tennis is one of the best sports to keep ones aerobic fitness level up. Because of some injuries and a couple of other health problems I have had to give it up. I miss it a lot.
