How can I convince my parents...

to buy me a guitar? I've been playing for about 4 months now and the proof exsists in the calisous in my fingers that I acuatlly practice. I take lessons too. But when I brought it up they say they don't even see me playing! I don't want to ruin my chances by arguing and saying that's BS (they never see me play because they're either at work or my door is closed) but I really need a better guitar. I got my brother's old one that practilly sucks.

Plus they've always enjoyed my brother play. He can do all these awesome solos and stuff, and I'm pretty sure the only way they'll think that I practice is if I sound at least half as good as he does, but he's been playing for almost 2 years so their judgement is totally biased!

How can I successfully convince them I am committed to practicing and need a new guitar?

  1. I would save up some money and buy it myself. Check craigslist. I got an electric bass with an amp and some song books for $150 in great condition. I never play it though [long story] lol but my brother and his friend use it for there band.

Sell some stuff on ebay and craigslist and make somre $$$

    Hope I Helped

  2. i say bring your guitar to them and them play your best song

  3. Tell them its your passion, and if  they dont buy you one they will regret it and you will be sad..lol

Also, be nice. It's a bonus if you show them your mature and not childish.

    :]

  4. Play your brother's guitar in front of them. Offer to do extra chores to earn it. Check out Musicians Friend's web site for good sales. Dramatically apply hand lotion to your calloused fingers.. LOL Good luck.
