How can I convince my parents to get me a puppy?

Okay,I have ALWAYS wanted a puppy,(I'm 12) and we already have 2 cats and a bird, my mom and dad say no! but they don't know how bad I want one! Its cuz They don't think I will take care of it! Its not like she has to buy the puppy! my aunt is selling them for free to us! but I really want one and she sed no cuz when we got our first cat I sed I would take care of it and I didn't. but That's cuz i have ADHD and AAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!1 But how do I convince them!????

your 12, and puppys are a hard thing to take care of.

there not exactly like cats.

you have to make sure you potty train them

play with them,

take them for walks!

You just have to be up for the responsibility!

but maybe you can start to show your parnets that your more responsibl then you were before. and they might change their mind..

If they don't think you'll take care of it, then there is a reason for that. Ah, right, you didn't care for your cat - which is a heck of a lot easier than a dog! What's changed since then? Sudden cure for your "ADHD"? Sorry but if they don't want to be stuck with the work then that's their choice.

Also, even if you get the dog for "free" that doesn't mean you won't be buying anything else. There's still the issue of supplies and vet care. We spent about $400 on that in the first two days alone when we got our dog, and we pay about $100 a month or more for recurring fees. Don't get me started on emergency fees (which can be in the couple grand range.)

It's their house, so you have to live by their rules. They work hard to pay for everything (house, car(s), utilities, insurance, taxes, food, you, etc) so they shouldn't have to buy you a dog if they don't want to.

When you have a job and your own place, you can get one.

  I don't know the current status of your relationship with your parents.But if it's anything like the one with my mother, then I assume your room is messy, you leave clutter around the house, and have never washed a dish in your life. Well, if your parent think you're irresponsible, start showing them otherwise now. Do your chores before they tell you. Help your mom with the shopping. Give your father a hand washing and cleaning the car. Believe me, sometimes it's the little things that matter most. Who knows, maybe they'll think your responsible enough to have a puppy when your 13 or 14.

For one, if you didnt take care of the cat, what makes you think you will take care of the puppy? a puppy is for life not just for christmas,

and second  i want a puppy too and my parents say no, its just the way life goes.

Don't get a dog, because you WILL NOT take care of it. You want a PUPPY, a puppy grwods to be a dog you know.

They best way to convince them is to show them that you can be responsible. Get to know the people who have dogs in your neighborhood and offer to feed, water, and walk their dogs. If you show that you can take care of their dogs, your parents will be more convinced that you can take care of your own.

You can also volunteer at your local SPCA. They always have a need for dog walkers, and they usually organize classes for volunteers so you will get to learn about how to train dogs as well.
