How can I convince my parents to let me get not one, but two rabbits?

My mom used to have rabbits, and i want some, but my parents won't give me a good reason why i can't. my mom just says "well, dad will have to build you a hutch" But I don't think it would be a problem because my dad makes things all the time. so how do i convince them to let me get them? BTW I have a cat and a dog. but they won't interact with the dog... I'll make sure the cat is... well... nice.

So what are some things i could say? I know I'll take care of them, because i've wanted them for like 2 years now. Oh yeah, and my mom said i could get some on march 23,2007 I marked it on my calender, i was so excited that i could get rabbits. The rabbits would stay in my room, so what are things to do to keep it smelling good?

  1. this link is all about convincing parents to let you get a pet

The dog is probably more of a problem than the cat.. We have 5 cats, None of whom bother the rabbit even when she is out of her cage, but many dog breeds are bred to hunt or chase.. terriers will be a problem, as will border collies and other herding breeds.. make sure your dog knows the command "LEAVE IT"

remember ultimately the pets are not yours, they are your parents.  very few places will sell pets to kids and you are not paying the vet bill or buying the food...

    maybe ask for only 1

remember NEVER get from a pet store (this supports cruel breeding of animals in warehouse situations)

always check for breeders or get from a local shelter - you will pay less and get a friendlier pet, and maybe it comes wiht supplies.

  2. The only way you can convince your rabbits is to ask why they are hesitate to let you have one. Is it because they think you will not take care of them? Prove them wrong by being responsible.

Or perhaps do they not want to pay for the new animal and all of the costs that come along with it? That is very reasonable. If that is the case, do you have a job to pay for it? Try to figure out why they do not want you to have more pets and solve the issue.

As far as keeping rabbits in your room...I know people do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Rabbits are nocturnal and they will make noise all throughout the night. Also -- rabbits have strong urine. Cleaning the cage out everyday will make it less noticeable, but you will likely still have an odor in your room.

  3. Your parents might think that they would be doing all the dirty work. Tell them that you promace that you will take care of them. Plus you might want to pray.
