I'm 15 and I live in Miami. I have thought about going to boarding school for a while and recently found Le Rosey. I am a straight A student (tied with #1 for ranking in my class) and never studied my whole freshman year and want more challenge. I have done a lot of research on Le Rosey and it sounds like a good school. I know it won't be possible for sophomore year since its too late, but I was thinking about junior and senior year. I was thinking I would like to see if I can get a scholarship in. However, I have asked my mom if she would let me go to a boarding school and she is convinced I am going through a "phase" and said no. I never told her when I had thought about it before because I was younger. However, it has been a dream of mine to study away from home for many years. I recently read a book that was set at a boarding school and I decided I should look into it more. Also, does anyone know the chances of getting a scholarship and your experiences if you went there?

  1. I assume your parents are extremely wealthy?

You should talk to your parents and research as much as you can prior to an honest discussion.  Be warned, the school takes in mostly from Europe and does not offer scholarships.  You would need to apply to a foundation for a *chance* at qualifying for partial funding.

If your parents are NOT rock star rich?  Be realistic in your choices.  There are other schools besides the most expensive in the world.

Maybe you could start with an exchange student program?

    Good luck.
