How can I convince my parents to let me go to school dances?

Ok, so I go to an all girls school and I desperately need some new guy friends. Every school year, all boy-schools in my neighborhood host these dances for all girls schools and their specific school. I'm 15 and my parents say they'll let me go when I'm a junior. (I'll be a sophomore in September.) A lot of my friends go and they're just fine. How can I convince them that I'm old enough/ responsible enough to go to these dances?

well say that all the teachers will be there, say your friends older girl cousin will be there or just act really responsible around them or ask them to give you a chance at one of  the dances...well also you could talk to boys on bebo or msn or myspace or something..

Okayy, you need to tell them that you are 15 and old enough to be responsible. They taught you wrong from right and you understand. You've been working very hard in school and you really feel like you deserve a break and a chance to have a little fun. You won't do anything inappropriate and you will follow all of the rules for that night's dance. Be honest, yes it will be boy girl, but tell them that you won't do anything bad and you will be modest at the dance. There WILL be chaperones (teachers, other parents...) who will be there the whole time and will be enforcing the rules. Show them what you would wear (something that you think is cute, but still is 100% mom & dad approved). Tell them that you understand completely how you are supposed to act and you won't do anything that will embarrass you or make you regret it. Tell them that all your friends' parents are letting them go and you really want to go too so you can hang out with your friends and listen to some good music. Remind them about all the responsible things that you did within the month!

My parents let me go to school dances in 6th grade, but I went to a public school with boys and girls and my parents knew basically everybody in my grade since I grew up with them =| I understand that you are in a completely different situation, so you just have to remind them that you are 15 and old enough to think for yourself. Tell them that you aren't going to leave your friends during the dance, name the girls and tell your parents that you are going to stick with them all night and will never be alone. They just want to make sure that you are safe, so you gotta tell them what they want to hear.

Speaking of the boy delimma of how you need some new guy friends, maybe you can meet with one guy friend and hang out as a group, next thing you know, he's bringing his guy friends with your girls for some pizza and bam now you know like 5 new guys! Get their screennames on facebook or something and chat with them there. If you're in need of guy friends, they are probably in need of some female friends, so tadaa problem solved, they would love to talk to a girl [:

At the dance, hang out with your friends and talk with some guys, maybe get their cell numbers and text them to hang out again later. You don't have to look for a bf, just look for some casual guys to be friends with. Be confident, be comfortable, and talkkkk! I hope your parents let you go, have funnn!
