How can I convince my stuborn dad?

I want to get my nose pierced. My mom is okay with it but my dad is totally against it. He is SO stubborn. He thinks I'm going to go all goth or something and get all kinds of tattoos, obviously I'm not. I researched nose piercing for hours. I know every detail. How to I convince him? HE IS SO SOOOSTUBBORNN! PLEASE HELP!

&& please don't say eww or you can't change his mind, because that's not answering my question.

THANKS!

  1. You can start with a fake one and see how he reacts after he sees it he may come around to it.  Or you could sit down and have a real conversation with him about why you would like to have one.  Dad's don't like to see his little children go up.  They are usually more behind than Mom's. Good Luck.

  2. First off how old are you? My dad was the same way when I wanted to get my belly button pierced. He kept going on and on about how "trampy" they were. But I just kept telling him that I was a good girl, got good grades, blah blah... Try telling him all the positive things you've done recently or try to earn it from him. Like I promise to get an A in math or whatever. Try to make it seem like you want to earn because the more you fight with him the more close minded he 'll stay! Good luck!

  3. Get good grades and be a good girl for a little time not asking anything. No daddy can recist this :P Also keep in mind that you can do it when you are 18 which is the best in my opinion.

  4. might as well not

do it when u have a bf and you and him move away

so u dont have to see ur lil stubborn dady

  5. Well, first of all, if you're old enough to do it without a signature, do that. Or have your mom come.

Or you can tell your dad that you've looked up everything and you'll be very safe with it. Just tell him that you won't get tattoos or other piercings after it.

  6. tell your dad that this is the only piercing you will ever get.

and you've wanted it for a while.

try to get your mom to help convince him.

but the thing is, if your like 12, then he's probably right.

if your 15 or over, i don't see any problem

  7. Prove you're responsible and mature enough.

Research it thoroughly and explain it to him.

    Maybe even make a deal:

If I get this one, I promise not to ask for anymore

    or something like that.

  8. a nose piercing is cute tell ur dad all the facts u no about it if he still objects then tell ur mom to take u to get it i got my belly button pierced when i was 12 and my dad told me i couldnt get it done my mom took me one day and he was like ol well its done so maybe h**l be like that hoped i helped!!!!!!!1

  9. how old are you?

    anyway:

    1) ask your mom to talk to him

    2) you sit down and talk to him

    3) explain why you want it

    4) reassure him that you won't go all "goth"

    5) come up with the money to get it pierced

    6) tell him everything you know about getting your nose pierced

    7) tell him that it's your nose

    8) ask for permission as a birthday or christmas gift

if that doesn't work, then i guess you'll just have to wait until you're 18.

  10. You could try and compromise with him. Get a fake one for the time being and let him get used to seeing it on you.

Bombarding him will only annoy him more. Let him see you're being mature and willing to compromise and he'll be more lenient. Nose piercings tend to close up really quickly and leave little to no mark if you change your mind. Find out all the facts and present him with the details first.

  11. don't let your father hold you back from being who you are.

my father spent my whole life trying to make me something i wasn't.

after i stood up for myself, left and did what i wanted to do, it took us a few years of "wrestling" with each other to make amends.

but i also believe he is the root to a lot of my inner problems from having constantly "displeased" him as a child.

long story short, if you want the piercing, get it. something this simple is easily removed and forgotten if YOU change your mind. but don't let your father make your mind for you.
