We always cook our spaghetti squashes by baking it, which is the only way we know how to do it, but how can you cook it by boiling it?

Thanks. :)

  1. i think you can cut it into small chunks (about 1-2" square) and boil in salted water.

you can cut it in half, and place the halves cut side down in a shallow dish with a few tablespoons of water and microwave for several minutes.  works best to cook one half at a time.

my favorite way to serve spaghetti squash is shredded into a pile, topped with a little butter and shredded parmesan.

  2. Do not peel it and cover in boiling water, use probe to check internal temperature, should be ready at approx 65 degrees centigrade.

  3. I don't see why it can't and nothing wrong boiling it perhaps you fail perhaps its new discovery and walla Bonaparte

  4. Why don't you try to microwave it instead of boiling it? Microwaves basically steams the squash, cooks quickly, and doesn't lose as much nutrients as in boiling. Just cut the spaghetti squash in half, scoop out the pulp, put cut side down in a little of water, cover with plastic wrap, being sure to vent it, and cook on high for about 10 minutes. If you don't have a microwave, you can get the same results by steaming it on top of the stove in a large pan, placing the squash on a small rack, adding water to the bottom of the pan, and covering tightly with a lid. Should be done in about the same time, 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. Cut it in half (lengthwise) or quarters. You don’t want to cut it up too small unless you want short strands. Scrape out the seeds and pulp as you would with any squash or pumpkin.  boil it for 20 mins or a little more
