Question:

How can I create a pretty, "messy" bun?

My hair is straight. I like the way my hair looks when it's up in a clip and the ends are hanging out, you know? But it won't stay. So I was thinking, maybe I'll just make a pretty, "messy" bun.

Ideas?

  1. if you take your hair put it up like your putting it in a bun

but then rap it around your finger and then put the pony-tail

    holder in -- it works well;

  2. Well, some days you can pull off the messy bun look and other days you cant. So don't get frustrated if it doesn't work first time.

Briefly brush your hair. To get out knots and tangles.

Flip your head down (facing knees) and grab your hair into a ponytail on the top on your head.

Slowly and carefully (as not to let the hair fall) pull it back just in front of where you want your ideal 'messy bun' to be.

Tie with a hair tie into a ponytail but don't pull all the way through.

Look in the mirror and pull out the desired amount of hair from the bun.

And voila! The perfect messy bun x

  3.   Form your bun, then take a bobby pin and use it to pull a few strategic strands loose.

  5. Pretty messy bun.I know what you are talking about.I wish I could do them.I made a mistake when iI cut my hair but it will grow so I am not worried about it that much.I love what you are talking about. You should try them.

  6. go to youtube & search in "how to make a messy bun".

  7. Use a teasing brush

Then when you put your hair in the scrunchie do it loosely, not tight like you would with a normal bun.

  8. i have kinda wavy hair and this is how i put mine into a bun on the top of my head. its kinda hard to explain, but i'll do my best :

you pull your hair up as if you're gonna put it into a ponytail. pull the elastic over your ponytail halfway , face it sideways to the left , but then twist it upwards to the right (grab it from underneath and twist it up kinda) and let your hair flop to the right, twist the tie to the right and around your bun and then bring the hair downwards and then up again twisting it and twist the tie to the left again. so taht's three ties. that's how i do mine and i hope i explained it right. it's very hard to explain =/ you gotta practice it a million times before you can get it right without looking in the mirror

  9. Gather your hair up into a ball on the top of your head. Make sure it is very loose, and secure it with a hair tie, and leave a few strands hanging out.

    I <3 this style!

  10. you cant thats why its called a messy bun

  11. it will hold better if you

    don't wash your hair for

a day - instead you could

    use just a light leave-in

    cream so your hair doesn't

    get too dry.

if you want a curly, messy bun:

    - wash + comb your hair

    - use a styling gel to brush the front of your hair

into a middle / high ponytail

    - use a volumizing or curl enhancing gel or mousse

like herbal essences body envy or totally twisted

    - wrap an elastic around your hair twice, and then

loop your hair in it a third time, pulling out a few peices

    and 'fluffing' it.

    * optional: diffuse after you use mousse,

or if you don't wanna look like you're soaked,

    blow dry the bun.

    :)

  12. put it low and to the side.. dont use a lot of styling products.. just maybe a little hairspray on the bun to keep the same shape throughout the day

  13. Using your fingers rather than a brush pull your hair up into a ponytail making sure the strands going into it are a bit uneven and messy.

Then use a bobble to secure the ponytail and twist the ponytail round itself into a bun.

Use another ponytail to secure that then pull at little bits of it with your fingers till they come loose

  14. hair tyes wont work you need a hair stick, and dont comb it out before hand just pull it up like you would a pony tail and twist it into a bun then use the hairstick to hold it in place

hairsticks also are great for after blow drying your hair (emmidiatly after) you make a bun with them and leave it for an hour if you take out the stick it leaves beautiful soft waves

  15. Part your hair the way you usually wear it, don't slick it back straight. While its parted, grab your hair loosely and put it with your hands where you'd like it to go. Don't smooth out any of the bumps, leave them there. Put the rubber band around it one time, leaving the hair out. Then a second time grabbing your hair in a large clump and tying the rubber band around that clump of hair. Then, leaving the hair in the messy clump, tie the rubber band around it until its tight. From there, if enough pieces aren't out, grab pieces of the pony tail and pull them out randomly to make the ends edgier. Hope that helped!

  16. i would go to youtube...agree w/ kaitlyn.../\
