I have a freewebs site and I want the members on my site(mailing list) to be able to sign in on my website to view certain pages besides clicking on the page and having to sign in...You know what I mean? Any answers are appreciated. Thanks! :]

  1. They're gonna have to sign in earlier, or sign in by clicking the page. I don't think there's a widget or anything that lets them sign in from the page.

  2. Hi - Freewebs may support tools for building a login, I'm not sure.

But generally it's hard to build a login script to let users access private pages. You can try adding a forum (not sure if Freewebs would support that).

A forum would let you have login/register to topics and discussion areas. But if you want just a members page/section, then perhaps look up free content management systems (CMS). A CMS is a pre-made website which normally comes with a user/sign-in section, page creator etc.

As for building one from scratch you'll need to learn to take the user's information, check their username/password, and display a result - if they're login is correct. I would reccomend learning a language like PHP or ASP for making pages with sign-in pages etc, but if you want a quicker solution then try to look up Content Management systems or ask Freewebs if they have support for private pages.
