How can I crop a photo, so to only leave a section of it left?

It doesn't appear to be an option in Microsoft Paint.

And also with a video, can I pause and somehow make that paused image a photo?

  1. Create a photobucket.com account and upload your pics into that. Then you can crop, resize, paint, and do all sorts of things to your photos and it is all free!

  2. Okayyy... you can easily crop a picture on paint. Look at the button thats highlighted

    http://www.janstips.com/Tutorials/Crop-a...

With the picture you crop, Right click and press COPY. Open a NEW document and press PASTE, and there eureka! Lol

    -----------------------

To catch a Still picture from a video, Press Prt Scr button (Its by "Scroll Lock" and All the "F"s), that takes a picture of the WHOLE screen. Then, go to paint and press Ctrl + V.

Crop JUST the video segment of the picture you want from the video.

I  hope this helped... E-mail me for any questions ? :]

  3. You can do it in Microsoft Paint.  Here's what their help screen says about it:

To change the size of your picture

On the Image menu, click Attributes.

Under Units, click the unit of measurement you want to use for the width and height.

Type the measurements in Width and Height.

You can also resize your picture by dragging the image resize handles, located at the lower-right corner and along the bottom and right sides of your picture. (You might need to maximize the window to see the square resize handles.)

If your current picture is bigger than the new size, the picture is cut from the right side and bottom to fit within the smaller area. If your current picture is smaller than the new size, the extra area is filled with the selected background color.

I should add, though, that there are a lot better tools around for this sort of thing.  Photoshop is fabulous, but expensive.  IrfanView can do it too, and it's free.
