Question:

How can I cure my swimming itches?

Last 4 months, my friends and I swam to a public pool. Then after 2 months, I had this mild itch, which started at my back. At first I didn't mind about it, but then, after a week or so, I developed a rash wound at my back, probably because of repetitive scratching. The wound dried of after 3 weeks because I stopped myself from scratching it. But then, the itch spread through my whole body. Now, after every shower, I always scratch because it's so itchy. They appear like chicken pox. Can you please suggest any remedy?

  1. You need to see a dermatologist, and quick! In the meantime, use moisturizer, since it sounds like your skin is dry, and also use hydrocortisone cream to help calm the itch. But get to a doctor! Sounds like you have a rash or something.

  2. It might be eczema, which is caused by really dry skin coming in contact with certain chemicals. This sounds bad enough were i would go to urgent/emergency care, because dermatologists are always packed and appointments are weeks from the time you need it. Last time i itched a lot the doctor prescribed this powerful hydrocortizone cream that worked wonders, that and using moisturizer soaps and creams made it all good, and it hasn't come back.

  3. Sounds like you should see your doctor for a course of Antibiotics. Your condition may be folliculitis.
