Whar are ways people's eyes get damaged and why they need glasses, also, does it run in the family?

Well if you stare at the sun long enough or underwater you will damage them. Also, if you lookat it through a telesecope (which I'm pretty sure you're not that stupid)

It canalso be hereditary, meaning in fact it runs in the family.

For example, I'm proned to diabetes..and i love sugar..so i eat it moderately cuz i know i'm definitely getting diabtets when i'm older.

So don't worry if you need glasses, you can get contacts which are far more comforatble for those who have agstimatism
