How can I dazzle employers before they hire me?

I am trying to begin on changing my life a little at a time, and my first step is looking for a job. I don't have any formal clothing and I am applying for my first job. I have never been hired, due to taking extra classes over the Summer. I'm not talking Summer school but SAT preps, and college classes, just to be ready for my now last year of High School. How can I get employers to want to hire me even after i ask if they're hiring? How can I leave a lasting impression, in a nice way, even a day after I leave? And second, say I will be applying at a Pharmacy, how and who do I ask if they are hiring without sounding bizarre, odd, or like a person that does not know a thing?

Two, what if they say they are not hiring, what do I do or say or even react? What can i do or say that will make them want me to work for them? Something that actually works please, not something copied from a website just so you can get the Best Answer. I want honest, tried and true answers.

  1. There's no magic in getting noticed and getting hired.  You are spending too much time thinking about things from your perspective and not enough time thinking about them from a potential employer's perspective.  Basically, to an employer, employees are overhead--that is, you cost them money.  In order to be noticed, you have to show an employer that you have a lot to bring to his table in the way of value for his money.  That's not easy when you're a high-schooler with very little experience.  Use your imagination to stand out from the crowd.

  2. If you haven't had a job yet, then I assume that you are young and sounds like you are still in high school.  Go into any place and ask for an application. Kiss their butt a little bit, speak to the manager and tell them that you really want to work there and add in a personal experience (like you shop there all the time and have had nothing but positive experiences).... good luck!

  3. Just be genuine and honest but be yourself. When you find the right job and you have a passion the rest will follow. If companies are not hiring go in and fill out an application regardless and follow up within a few days. If you show eagerness some companies will notice and possibly want to speak with you.
