How can I decorate my tables for the reception?

I'm having square medium tables at the reception and the linen is chocolate brown and the napkin champagne color. I'm having a flower arrangement that had orange , yellow, pink, red, green, and ivory flowers do you think the square vase is a good idea? any more ideas

yeah you need to give the table some height difference, so maybe play around with candles to go along with the flowers? maybe like small candles just to add ambiance? congratulations!

i have square vases for my reception they are great. we are using candles instead of flowers in them they give the table height! - we are doing all our own decorations fora black and white wedding we are using coarse salt in teh vases with black table clothes and the candles the light just glitters off the COARSE salt (not table salt) like they are diamonds!

Use a big candle holder and then small ones with small candles around. Just don't use one of those cheesy mirrors that everyone sets things on. I really hate those.

I love square vases, so I completely approve of this idea. However, make sure the centerpieces are very small or short, so that guests do not have to lean around the flowers to look at and talk with one another.

Something I saw recently which I loved was a square vase with pebbles in it. Sticking out of it was colored wired that was curled at the end to hold double-sided photos of the couple getting married. It was easy to look around and it was so wonderful to see all the different photos of the couple.
