I really wish i could paint my room, but I live in a rental and the land lord wouldn't like it. Is there anyway I could decorate my wall without painting, or doing anything permanent?

  1. 1.  You can wallpaper.  There are now several companies that make wallpaper specifically for renters.  When it's time for you to move, the wallpaper comes off in whole sheets, and leaves no residue.

    2.  You can use vinyl wall stickers.  These come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and colors.

    3.  You can "wallpaper" your walls with fabric using liquid starch as the adhesive.  Simply dip fabric in liquid starch, and apply to wall like wallpaper.  Once it's dry, it'll stay up.  When you're ready to move, simply tear off, and wipe down wall with warm water.

    4.  You can make your own appliques out of fabric.  Simply cut out large shapes (flowers, birds, abstract shapes) from your fabric, and use liquid starch to adhere to wall.

    5.  Frame a series of similar items, i.e., postcards, colorful scrapbook paper, etc., and hang them in rows to create a gallery wall.  The more you use, the bigger the impact, i.e., 7 rows of 10 pictures.

  2. you can hang alot of pictures on your wall

  3. Go to hobby stores and buy large poster pictures.  Hobby stores also have frames for their posters and some stores will frame the posters for you.  Change your walls with each season and holiday such as autumn and Christmas.

  4. They have these new things called Wallies, that are pre-cut decorations made of wallpaper.  You can remove them later just like you remove wallpaper.  I have seen people hang curtains against the wall and it looks awesome.  I like the idea of hanging a quilt, beautiful lightweight rug, a set of matching or complementary place mats in a geometric pattern, a bunch of plates, family pictures, sconces with candles, or any number of neat things.  Just decide, what do I like, and see if you can figure out how to mount it on the wall.  You can buy these hook things at QVC.com that let you push them through the sheet rock walls and they leave a very tiny hole that would easily cover with a dab of caulk if you needed to.  No hammer or nails needed and you just push them in.

  5. Tapestry hangings are a lot of fun.  Go to any furniture or new age store and you can find lots of patterns to hang.
