How can I decrease my appetite?

Okay, i'm going INSANE. First off I've been keeping a food diary for 6 months already to keep track. For the last 5 months I've eaten very little, 3 meals a day and a lot of times I ate less than that, no snacks in between. Now I swear to God, i have 3 meals, snacks in between, and if its not snacks in between i squeeze the snacks in WITH the meal. I have developed an obsession for food. (No, I'm not pregnant, but ever since I started the pill over a month ago was when all of this started happening.) How can I stop eating so much? And I certainly haven't given in to Big macs or anything like that, I still eat decent things. But I eat so much more frequently now. I used to seriously have a high of 800-900 calories a day, sometimes less than that, And now I probably have 1600 or more.

I'm 18, and 5'2 and the last time the doctor weighed me I was 104. (early July) Now it usually says 107-111.

  1. Try eating more protein foods.

they fill you up longer...hope i can help a little!:)

  2. I know, I am like you! I used to be 98 pounds like 7 months ago, and I have eaten probably 1,400-1,900 calories a day, and I work out often. But now I weigh between 104-108. I hate it! I know! I used to eat probably 700 calories a day, now I think 1,600 is very little! Just take stuff out of your diet slowly; slowly take and decline on foods that you don't need. Are you hungry, or are you bored?

  3. Hmm you might want to do some research on the side effects of the pill. It could be causing that unwanted increase in appetite. I know how you feel. I get super hungry and feel like eating myself out of house and home every month when I'm PMSing but obviously in your case that's not what's causing it. If it is the pill, you might want to go off it or try a different one. My suspicion is that it's the pill that's causing it because for women, hormones have a lot to do with appetite.

Try drinking lots of water when you feel hungry. Or hot herbal tea, I have that with soy milk and something about the warmth and the volume of liquid makes me feel full and satisfied when I'm PMSing and I know that it's not real hunger I am feeling, just increased appetite. If that doesn't work, try taking some hoodia capsules, it's an extract from a cactus that stops hunger...you can also get it in a tea mixed with green tea that gives you energy and speeds up your metabolism. The first and most important thing you should do, though, is to investigate why this is happening. Google the type of pill you're on and read everything you can. I bet it's in the small print somewhere.

Good luck and I hope I helped! :)
