Question:

How can I define my eyes more without eyeliner?

Every day since about 9th grade (I'm now in 11th) I've worn fairly heavy black eyeliner because without it, my eyes disappear. It seems that (lately at least), if I don't renew my makeup perfectly before taking pictures, I look terrible. The eyeliner gets worn off after a while and I just look kinda gross.

I really want a new way to define my eyes.

I'd like more color in eyeshadow (I use silvery gray, I like the smokey effect, but it looks bad after a day at school). And I'm willing to either use thinner eyeliner lines, or maybe even switch to dark brown eyeliner instead of black. I'm also willing to use some mascara, but too much irritates my eyelash roots and I tend to pick at them, which is not good at all.

I'd like some suggestions at what products you think would look best on me. Subtle won't cut it with my eyes, so I want it bold, but not too drastic.

Can you suggest a good brand and color (specifically) of eyeshadow that would compliment my hazel-green eyes? And what is a good brand of eyeliner? (I like the kind that you can roll out instead of sharpening it)

Here's a picture of me that may help:

(I don't really like my nose so that's why I go heavy on the eye makeup, so my eyes distract from my nose xD)

  1. Well definitely take the eyeliner down a notch by only applying dark brown eyeshadow (black is a bit too harsh) in a thin line between your eyelashes (try dotting it and then smudging for an even look), and then the thinnest line possible on the top eyelid, as close to your lash-line as you can get. After that, Use a dark brown pencil eyeliner to get a smudgy look on the lower lid. Then get a light brown eyeshadow and start at the base of your top eyelid (near the inner corner lashes), and blend upwards about a half-inch past the crease of your eyelid. Then blend a medium-brown shade to the crease, and then take a dark brown eyeshadow and blend it halfway to the crease. This will give your eyes a defined, smoky look. Finish with a bit of gold eyeshadow (just a little bit!), and some lash-pumping mascara. Hope this helps! :)

  2. try lining your eyes with a dark blue or gold eyeshadow...

    also gold eyeliner may help
