How can I defrost Italian sausage in the microwave without ruining it?

I need to have for dinner in an hour, but everytime I microwave meat it cooks it and ruins it. Is there a way to defrost sausage meat without overcooking/heating it? How?

  1. Nuke them on 30 per cent of power in 30 second intervals.  Turn them over and rotate after each 30 second,  seperating them as soon as you can.  They don't have to be 100% defrosted before you cook them, just managable.


  2. I always boil my frozen meat/sausages until it gets to the right consistency. I don't completely cook them if I am going to cook them another way. It works every time for me, so good luck!

  3. The best way to defrost sausages is to drop them into a dish of hot tap water. In about 15 minutes you can break them apart and cook them.

  4. I think the best way is to boil them stove top in a little water until they are cooked, drain them well and then brown them off in a hot skillet with a little oil.  This is the method I have seen most chefs use.

  5. unless you are an expert at microwaves it doesn't work well for your sausage or foods. Try putting it in a colander ,over a pot of boiling water to thaw it, or simply freeze it flat and by portions to have them handy for cooking.
