How can I delete a large number of e-mails between specified dates without deleting others?

move the ones you want to keep to another file

If your using outlook express you can arrange the emails by date then click one of the emails hold down shift and press page down to select a lot of them, then stop just before the date specified and press delete.

Or to select them individually hold ctrl and select each one then press delete.
