I have a Macbook, and I added an additional user to it, but I don't need it and It is using up too much of my memory.

  1. An additional user won't take up any extra RAM (unless that user is logged in at the same time as the first user - not very likely, and even then, the RAM usage is probably negligible unless he's running some processes, in which case, just kill those processes or log him out).

An additional user will take up some drive space (totally different type of "memory" than RAM), but even that is likely to be negligible; you probably have something like a 40 GB or 60 GB or 120 GB drive, and the second user, in its just-created state, probably takes up something like 1 or 3 MBs of space; just a drop in the ol' proverbial bucket.

Still, if you want to delete the second user, you do it pretty much like you added him. You go into System Preferences, User Accounts, highlight the user account and click on the minus sign. Answer the question about saving the dating or deleting it immediately, and you're done.

But a second user is good to have around if you ever need to test whether a problem is specific to a certain user or not. On the other hand, it's just one more possible "door" for a ne'er-do-well to use to break into your system. Still, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and would leave the second user there; your mileage may vary.
