How can I delete stuff I find about myself on the Internet?

I just recently looked up my name online and some not-so-flattering stuff came up from about 5 years ago. I have cleaned up my act since then and I would like to remove all that stuff I found. What can I do?

  1. You could contact the website and ask them to remove it.  There is no guarentee that they will.

  2. It's almost impossible. However, a couple of weeks ago I was listening to the Kim Komando show (she has a very interesting radio show about all things relating to computers) and this question came up from one of her callers. I had to stop listening before I heard what she had to say. I think all of her shows are archived. Here is her web site.

If anyone would know how to do this it would be Kim. I hope this helps.

  3. I do not think you can do anything about it.

  4. You can't! ~

Once you are out there, it is forever.

  5. I don't think you can. Try to find the creator of the content.

  6. The internet is forever, sorry.

  7. It completely depends on the source of the information.
