Question:

How can I discard CMOS changes?

My USB mouse was not working, after opening advanced cmos setup I saw USB mouse & keyboard support was disabled, after enabling them and saving the changes my comp doesn't work and when i place del and go to advanced set up the menu appears but when i press up-down arrow it doesn't move. How can i restore my previous settings?

note that: when i go to advanced set up the keyboard does not work.

  1. On the motherboard is a small switch or 3 pins with a jumper on 2 of them.  Stop and unplug the pc. Move the switch or the jumper to the other position for 1 minute and put it back. Start the pc: your BIOS settings have been reseted to default.


  2. go back and select RESTORE DEFAULT option.

    or

    with power disconnected then take the battery out for few minutes.,then put it back in.

  3. Turn off you system. Wait for while due to discharge all power fully. The open your system. You can find the CMOS in the mother board. Remove it and wait for while all setting will reset which are related to CMOS.

    And then put in the same place and close it. Now turn on your system.
