Last night I chopped raw chicken on my wooden chopping board. I am very worried about how to get rid of germs from the raw meat. I wiped it with boiling water, with a flannel and put salt on the chopping board. My instinct told me to do this.

  1. Butcher shops use chlorine bleach and water to sanitize cutting tables and other equipment.  A tablespoon of bleach to a gallon of water will disinfect your chopping board.

  2. Wash it thoroughly in hot soapy water and let it air dry.

  3. i always spray mine with a diluted clorox solution after chopping meat on it. the clorox won't harm you and you are sure to kill the germs.

  4. Diluted bleach water. Let sit at least ten mins.

  5. next time make sure you rinse with hot water immediately after use ensuring that germs don't grow. If the board is small enough to fit in microwave set at 40-60 seconds, otherwise thoroughly wash with hot water and detergent.
