  1. If you're looking for a fancy hairdo, there are two ideas that come to my mind. Sleek, pulled back and then a mass of curls.

If your hair has length and you can stand to have it down then part the front of your hair on the side that looks best, then take the length and secure it in a side ponytail and give it some curls. Big, sleek, unified, elegant curls that are swept forward are perfect for a fancy occasion.

If your hair is short then you can use a curling iron or hot rollers to put a little wave into your hair. Part your hair in four sections, from ear to ear across the back of your head and then part your hair where ever you want to, but bring it towards the center and continue down the nape of your neck. Take these four sections and make ponytails in the corners where these sections all interesect. Take the curls and pin them around in soft "bubbles"on the back of your head.

Even if you don't do it perfect you basically can't make a mistake. The most unique, beautiful, and most flattering styles can often start off from a mess.

  2. Depends how long it is, but if you have layered hair a loose bun is always pretty. To do this all you have to do is pull your hair up into a bun, secure it quite tightly then give it a shake. Loose shorter layers should fall out elegantly.

  4. When I went to my hairdresser a while back for a dance she did an upside down braid and went from the nape of my neck and diagonally lined it to the top and curled the top. It was unique...I loved it!
