  1. Give it to the local Catholic priest, and ask him to give it to someone who he knows needs the help. A good priest really knows the people in his parish and can make a good decision about who really needs help.  The other advantage is that you can remain unknown.  Then the gift is given, but the recipient does not have to feel constantly grateful or embarrassed.

  2. Good for you!    I just want to second the vote on the answerer who suggested the Red Cross and other charities who are responding to the disaster in the Midwest.   I feel so bad for those poor people.

  3. You can't be eligible for economic stimulus payment check if you got $ 80, 000 last year..

  4. Ask your relatives if they know of a family that really needs. You may not can write it off on your taxes but you don't pay taxes anyway. That's what I would do.

  5. Good for you for doing something noble. Do you have a home here in the States at all? I would suggest calling a local school and telling them you are looking for a family in need. Schools see children every day who have no coats, no bookbag, no lunch money, shabby clothes. I work at a school and I have spent plenty of my own money buying things like that for kids in need. At Christmas we do Secret Santa for these kids instead of exchanging gifts among the staff.  They never know it comes from the school, which might make some parents uncomfortable. I wish you luck and thank you for wanting to help others. Contrary to what the first poster said, you will get a check, just not the full amount.

  6. Donate the money to the USO, it will help our troops fighting overseas and provide them with a place to relax and entertainment.

  7. The Red Cross and Salvation army are helping families in need in the flooded Midwest and the California fires.  Otherwise contact a family or friend in the US, most churches have many families in need that they can not now care for.

  8. I'll give you my address. You can send the money there. I REALLY need it.
